New compact Coalescence Separator from KESSEL
Improved chamber saves costs and space
(Lenting, January 12, 2009) KESSEL has expanded its line of high efficiency Class I coalescence separators with the addition of a new NS 3 / NS 6 separator. Coalescence separators are used to extract potentially environmentally harmful fuels and oils from the wastewater stream before they enter the groundwater supply or public watershed areas - they are commonly used in gasoline stations, car washes or fuel transfer stations.
Advantages during the planning, installation and operation phases
Since the material polyethylene is now considered the material of choice in the manufacture of fuel separators, it was clear for us that the expansion of our polyethylene fuel separator line would be an advantage to our customers. 'The new separator has a single access cover, a sludge storage capacity of 1000 liters and is approximately 2 meters tall` discusses Martin Jais, the KESSEL Product Manager for fuel separators. The new separator is built according to the requirements of Euro-Norm EN 858 Class I. Especially practical is the fact the separator is also available with a smaller sludge storage capacity of 650 liters and can be combined with a sampling chamber as well as fuel monitoring devices. Additional advantages for the architect, installer and operator are the polyethylene material as well as the one-piece monolyth construction which offer 100% watertightness up to ground level, extremely light weight, quick installation times due to the fact that no concrete backfill is needed and last but not least a very competitive price.
Protection against fuel separator leakage
Along with proper operation of a fuel separator, it is also critical that all fuel collected inside the separator remains inside the separator. The worst case scenario would be a fuel separator leak causing raw fuels and oils to permeate the ground as well as groundwater. For this reason KESSEL manufacturers all separators from the chemical and corrosion resistant Polyethylene (PE). The product is specially designed and manufactured to minimize the number of gaskets and seals. Due to the one piece monolyth construction, the KESSEL separator has only one single gasketed connection between the base of the separator and the top cover. This is why KESSEL is able to offer a 20 year guarantee on the separator body.
