red dot design award 2010 for KesselDesign bathroom drain covers

Lockable bathroom drain covers receive the coveted international Design Prize
 
(Lenting, Germany  March 15, 2010) The KESSEL Company has been awarded the world renown ‚red dot design award’ in the category ‚product design’ for the new KesselDesign drain program. This is one of the largest and most well known design competitions in the world which grants awards only to products engineered to such a level that they clearly stand out above the rest. The Red Dot Awards gala is scheduled for July 5, 2010 in Essen, Germany.

Design und Function were convincing

„The decisive factory for the international jury’s decision was the combination of design and function’ states KESSEL’s Marketing Manager Reinhard Spaeth.  The new covers not only look great but they also offer an integrated locking mechanism which means unlocking and removing the cover occurs in a quick single step.  This reduces the opening time of a drain cover by approximately 70 percent compared to covers with standard screwed cover – this can prove to be an advantageous time save on larger projects with hundred of drains.

Nine covers in the KesselDesign Program

The 9 new covers making up the KesselDesign Program include something for everyone’s taste.  The program is hi-lited by the Oval-Design drain cover which was already granted the Design-Plus-Prize at the 2005 ISH exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany as well as the ‘invisible’  drain cover where a bathroom tile is placed into the recessed portion of the cover which has the effect of the drain cover disappearing into the tiled bathroom floor.
